KSE continues ascent as 100-Index gains 38 points
KARACHI: Heavy buying pushed up prices of leading scrips at the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Friday as the benchmark 100-Index went up by 38.74 points to close at 9,776.21.
The market was bullish since the morning and the index crossed the 9,800 level on heavy buying in leading scrips in the second session, said a dealer at a leading brokerage house. But profit taking trimmed morning gains at the close, he added.
The turnover volume was low at 227.130 million shares as 222 scrips advanced and 137 sustained loss while 21 remained unchanged.
The market capitalisation improved by Rs12 billion to Rs2.812 trillion.
PTCL was the volume leader with a turnover of 25.129 million shares followed by Jahangir Siddiqui 18.792 million shares, TRG Pakistan 17.993 million shares, Pace Ltd 16.959 million shares and Lotte Pakistan 16.618 million shares.
Bosicor Pak closed at Rs11.10, Lotte Pak Rs8.95, FFBL Rs26.75, PTCL Rs19.52, Nishat Chunian Rs22.79, Jahangir Siddiqui Rs31.36 and Arif Habib Sec Rs49.33.
Unilever Food recorded the highest increase of Rs66 to Rs1,415 followed by Unilever Pak which moved up by Rs26.88 to Rs2,426.55 while Pak Services dipped by Rs27.50 to Rs154.01 and Shezan International went down by Rs6.65 to Rs126.35.—APP
