UBL, Visa Pakistan sign deal










The United Bank Limited and a payment solution provider, Visa Pakistan, on Wednesday signed an agreement to provide easy access to cash by deployment of electronic point of sale to the internally displaced persons of North West Frontier Province.

Under the agreement, machines are being installed at designated places, including Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan, Mingora, Batkhela and Peshawar.

Around 450 points of sale terminals are being installed in the United Bank branches and retail outlets across Swat and adjoining areas. Visa has directly provided 200 of these terminals.

Atif R Bokhari, President and Chief Executive Officer, United Bank, said that the bank has so far issued 400,000 cards to the displaced persons and appreciated all the stakeholders, especially armed forces for their help in providing these services.

Amir Pasha, Country Manager, Visa Pakistan, said that his organisation remained fully committed to provide products and network, which played a critical role in providing convenient way to use government funds.

“The deployment of points of sale terminals will provide convenience to the people in making their everyday purchases,” Pasha said.
