LAHORE: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani says National Assembly will pass Reformed General Sales Tax RGST Bill.

“The parliament is my strength. Opposition has every right to criticize. We will entertain diverse opinions on RGST with positive intent,” he told newsmen Saturday after iinaugurating the country’s first ever Liver Transplant Centre at Shaikh Zayed Hospital.


On remarks of opposition leader in National Assembly Ch. Nisar Ali Khan on RGST, he said we have great respect for the opposition leader. If we expect the world to help us with money of their taxpayers, it also expects us to pay taxes and generate revenue for rehabilitation of our people.

He said health, education sectors were top priority of the PPP government. Health Ministry is among the first ten Ministries which will be devolved under the 18th Constitutional amendment.

Gilani said the government is in process of re-prioritising the Public Sector Development Program in wake of the recent unprecedented floods. Maximum resources will be given to the provinces under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.
