KARACHI: Heavy selling eroded values of leading scrips at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Wednesday as the benchmark 100-Index decreased by 60.22 points to close at 9,144.76.The market was bullish in the morning on some buying, but plummeted on selling pressure, said a dealer.
The turnover volume was low at 161.934 million shares as 139 scrips advanced and 235 sustained loss while 18 remained unchanged.
The market capitalization was reduced by Rs17 billion to Rs2.640 trillion.
Pak PTA was the volume leader with a turnover of 25.666 million shares followed by PTCL 15.365 million shares, Nishat Mills 13.844 million shares, OGDC 12.404 million shares and FFBL 10.054 million shares.
NBP closed at Rs73.32, Hubco Rs30.51, Jahangir Siddiqui Rs29.22, PTCL Rs17.83, Arif Habib Sec Rs47.03, OGDC Rs107.10, Pak PTA Rs7.66, FFBL Rs25.17 and Nishat Mills Rs66.46.
Unilever Food recorded the highest increase of Rs34.50 to Rs1,364 followed by Lakson Tobacco which moved up by Rs15.19 to Rs319.01 while Unilever Pak dipped by Rs86.06 to Rs2,313.94 and Siemens Pak went down by Rs38.03 to Rs1,260.01.—APP
