ISLAMABAD: The Privatization Commission will be made vibrant with a view to maximising sale proceeds by exercising utmost transparency and through a fair process in accordance with the prevailing rules, regulations and procedures. Waqar Ahmad Khan, Federal Minister for Privatization, stated this while chairing a meeting of the privatization commission after the assumption of the new portfolio here.
The minister urged the officials of the Privatization Commission to adopt international practices for improving image of Pakistan as an investment friendly country for making effective efforts to attract the investors.
He said the democratic government was fully determined to carry out the privatization of SOE transactions in the interest of the 170 million people of Pakistan, he added. He directed the PC officials to put up the realistic timeline for the privatization of cabinet committee on privatization’s approved public sector entities in a professional manner.
Earlier, Privatization Secretary Shahab Anwar Khawja briefed the minister about the status of the ongoing and upcoming transactions which would be further reviewed. All the senior officials of privatization ministry and commission were present during the meeting.
