Milk price surges Rs4/lit

KARACHI: Pakistan is the fourth large milk producer in the world; however, the prices of milk products continue to rise higher every other day, Geo News reported Monday.

Milk price has once again today mounted Rs4 per liter.

Talking to Geo News, Sindh Dairy Farm Chairman said milk was Rs44/lit last year, which has soared Rs12 to Rs56/lit this year.

To cap it all, milk price burgeoned by Rs4 from November.

It should be mentioned here that some days back, Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered milk be sold at Rs37/lit; however, this order could not be put into practice.

Tetra milk price raised by Rs4 per litre

KARACHI: A leading tetra milk producer has given a pre-budget shock to its consumers by pushing up the price of one-litre pack by Rs4 to Rs62.

After announcing price hike by the main player other producers will follow suit shortly.

Food imports decrease by 34.65pc in November

ISLAMABAD: Food imports during the month of November registered a negative trend as they decreased by 34.65 per cent as compared to the previous month of the current financial year.
 
Data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) showed that during the month of November food commodities including milk, cream and milk food for infants, unmilled wheat, tea and spices costing $252.09 million were imported as compared to $325.7 million of last month.
