Russia keen to invest in Sindh

KARACHI: A Russian delegation has expressed keen interest in gas, mining, agriculture, livestock, healthcare and engineering sectors in Sindh, a statement said on Saturday.

Talking to the Adviser to Chief Minister on Investment Zubair Motiwala at the Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), leader of the delegation and Russian National Investment Agency Chief Executive Officer Oleg Gorbulin said that soon a delegation of Russian investors will visit Karachi and Islamabad to further explore possibilities for investment in these fields.

He also shown keen interest in setting up projects in special economic zone and sought a separate block for Russian investors for this purpose.


Gorbulin said that bright prospects existed for Russian investment in Pakistan.

Earlier, Motiwala and his team briefed the Russian delegation about the investment prospects in the energy, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, engineering and healthcare sectors.

He invited the Russian delegation to use SBI’s facilities for examining investment opportunities in the province and also offered to set up SBI’s temporary office in Russia for Pakistani businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Russia.
