KARACHI: A Russian delegation has expressed keen interest in gas, mining, agriculture, livestock, healthcare and engineering sectors in Sindh, a statement said on Saturday.
Talking to the Adviser to Chief Minister on Investment Zubair Motiwala at the Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), leader of the delegation and Russian National Investment Agency Chief Executive Officer Oleg Gorbulin said that soon a delegation of Russian investors will visit Karachi and Islamabad to further explore possibilities for investment in these fields.
He also shown keen interest in setting up projects in special economic zone and sought a separate block for Russian investors for this purpose.

One window operation in Sindh to facilitate investors
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said here on Saturday that the Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) will facilitate investors through one-window in setting up industries to promote industrialisation.
The chief minister made this announcement at the conclusion of an investors’ conference organised by the Sindh Board of Investment at a local hotel on Saturday, says an official handout.

Sindh wheat crop to cross 3.7m tons mark
KARACHI: Wheat production in Sindh is likely to exceed 3.7 million tons target and finally end up somewhere near four million tons.
The province produced 3.6 million tons of wheat last year.
The estimates have been revised by agriculturists after reports that some more areas in Badin and other districts have come under wheat cultivation for Rabi crop now being harvested.

KESC, Oracle to set up Thar’s first coal power plant
KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oracle Coalfields, a company incorporated in England and Wales and primarily engaged in coal drilling, exploration, mining and production, to set up a major coal-fired power plant at Thar Coalfields in Sindh.
An announcement to this effect was made in a statement issued by the KESC.
